backpacker

The nickname “Backpacker” was given to me during my adolescence, a nod to my habit of always carrying my backpack wherever I went. Over time, this name has taken on a deeper meaning for me. It symbolizes my drive to always be prepared—ready to face opportunities, challenges, and adventures head-on.

In many ways, my backpack represents the collection of skills, experiences, and lessons I’ve gathered throughout life. It’s a reminder that no matter where I go or what I pursue, I carry those tools with me, ready to adapt and contribute. Whether metaphorically or physically, my approach to any endeavor is to ensure my “backpack” is packed and ready for whatever comes next.

The pandemic lockdown marked the beginning of my journey into disc jockeying, sparking a deeper exploration of my creative passions. While I’ve always had a love for music, it was during this time that I first taught myself to DJ, initially as a playful way to connect with music and share it with friends and strangers. Over time, I began to take it more seriously, honing my skills and viewing it as an art form—a way to tell stories and express emotions through sound.

This journey with DJing naturally led me to reflect on my other creative pursuits, like photography and videography, and how they shared a common thread: the desire to create and express. I realized I wanted to explore my love for music further and take it to new heights. That’s when I decided to dive into music production, seeing it as an exciting avenue to expand my creative skill set.

In the fall, I took the leap and enrolled at Berklee Online, where I’ve been taking production classes to build a solid foundation in this craft. By adding production to my growing collection of creative skills, I’m equipping myself to tell richer, more immersive stories and bring my artistic vision to life in new, innovative ways.

final stand

Final Stand was the first song I ever produced, marking a significant milestone in my journey as a music creator. With this track, I aimed to craft a dystopian, trip-like experience—one that immerses the listener in a world that feels both surreal and evocative.

The inspiration behind the song was to explore themes of tension, resilience, and chaos, translating them into sound. By experimenting with atmospheric elements, unconventional textures, and dynamic shifts, I sought to capture the feeling of standing at the edge of an unraveling world. Producing Final Stand taught me the power of storytelling through music, and it solidified my passion for creating immersive soundscapes.
